Description

Janssen Research and Development (R&D), L.L.C., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is seeking Associate Scientists, Sr. Assoc. Scientists, and Scientists in Analytical Development, located in Leiden, the Netherlands.
You will be part of the lab operations team responsible for the routine analytical testing for early and late development projects supported by the Leiden analytical development team, which includes a wide variety of technologies, such as HPLC, MS, CE, ELSD and others. You will be directly responsible for routine testing to support product development projects, support method development, transfers and validations activities and provide method training and troubleshooting support. Projects will often be high priority requiring flexibility and attention to detail.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

· Executes analytical testing for product development, API pilot plant, technical transfers, etc. using a wide variety of technologies such as HPLC, CE, MS etc.

· Designs experiments, writes protocols, and evaluates results to deliver scientifically supported conclusions and recommendations that are documented in appropriate technical reports.

· Maintains lab and equipment for GMP testing, and trains other operators.

· Collaborate with colleagues in the global Janssen organization to support development projects.

Qualifications

· Typically, an MSc in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Analytical Chemistry or related field with a strong protein background, or BSc in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Analytical Chemistry or related field with 4-8 years of experience, performing progressively advanced duties, or equivalent training/expertise.

· Analytical mindset with attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.

· Highly results driven, with focus on customer satisfaction and on-time completion of projects.

· Self-reliant, able work well within global, multidisciplinary teams, providing flexibility and a positive attitude.

· Excellent interpersonal & collaborative skills with an ability to operate as part of a team in highly inter-dependent environment.

· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English

· Experience working within a cGMP environment is a plus.

· This position requires full time presence in our labs located in Leiden, the Netherlands.
